Injection Molding for Nevada, Colorado, Utah, New Mexico and Southern California

A Phoenix injection molder is one truck-day from Las Vegas, San Diego and Albuquerque, two from Salt Lake City and Denver. No port, no customs, no overseas quality trips. Legacy Molding runs production programs for OEMs across the Southwest with engineering visits, scheduled releases and the same documented quality system behind every part.

State by state

Injection molding for Las Vegas and Reno, Nevada

Nevada has almost no custom injection molders of its own, which is why Las Vegas and Reno OEMs source from Southern California and Phoenix. From our plant, Las Vegas is a five-hour drive and next-day freight; Reno is two days. We mold gaming and hospitality equipment components, aerospace and defense hardware for the Nellis and Creech supply chains, data center and electronics enclosures, and consumer products for the brands headquartered in the valley. Engineering visits to Las Vegas are routine.

Example parts: Slot machine and kiosk housings in flame-rated ABS; data center cable management in PC; overmolded handles for hospitality equipment.

Plastic injection molding for Denver and Colorado Springs, Colorado

Colorado’s aerospace and space industry (Lockheed Martin, Ball, Sierra Space and their suppliers along the Front Range), its medical device cluster and its outdoor and sporting goods brands need engineering-resin molding at volumes local shops do not run. Phoenix is two days by truck, and we hold safety stock to Kanban so Colorado lines never wait on the road.

Example parts: Satellite ground-equipment housings in PC/ABS; medical instrument covers; glass-filled nylon brackets for outdoor equipment; bike and ski component overmolds.

Injection molding for Salt Lake City and Provo, Utah

Utah’s Silicon Slopes electronics companies, its medical device industry (one of the largest in the West) and its outdoor products brands sit ten hours north on the I-15. We serve Utah OEMs with documented medical molding, ESD-safe electronics parts and two-shot consumer components, shipped in two days with scheduled releases.

Example parts: Medical device housings in PC; overmolded grips for outdoor tools; ESD trays and fixtures for electronics assembly.

Injection molding for Albuquerque, New Mexico

Sandia and Los Alamos national laboratories, Intel’s Rio Rancho fab, Kirtland Air Force Base and the aerospace and directed-energy companies around them buy precision molded parts in engineering resins at low to mid volumes. Albuquerque is a seven-hour drive and next-day freight from Phoenix; we quote lab and defense work with the documentation those buyers require.

Example parts: PEEK and Ultem fixture components; flame-rated enclosures; connector bodies in glass-filled PBT.

Injection molding for San Diego and Southern California

Southern California has molders, and it also has the highest operating costs in the country. San Diego’s medical device and defense companies and the LA and Inland Empire aerospace, consumer and electronics OEMs move programs to Phoenix for lower piece prices, Arizona lead times and a plant six hours away by truck rather than six weeks by ship. Next-day freight to San Diego, LA and the Inland Empire.

Example parts: Medical disposables in PP; defense electronics housings in PC; consumer product two-shot housings; aerospace brackets in glass-filled nylon.

Out-of-state questions

How long does freight take from Phoenix?

Next-day ground to Las Vegas, San Diego, Los Angeles, Albuquerque and El Paso; two days to Salt Lake City and Denver. Expedited and dedicated truck available.

Will you visit our plant?

Yes. DFM reviews, first-article approvals and quality audits in person are part of how we run out-of-state programs.

Do you hold inventory for us?

Yes. Blanket orders with scheduled releases and safety stock to your Kanban are standard for production programs.

Why not use a molder in our own state?

Many Southwest states have few production molders, and Southern California’s costs are the highest in the country. Phoenix gives you production capacity, engineering-resin experience and Arizona operating costs one truck-day away.
